Sean's Dream
Jan. 16, 2025
I currently live in NY with my husband and 4 children. I have had a few career paths in my lifetime but none as fulfilling as being able to stay home and raise my children. I hold a degree In Health Information Management, have extensive experience in administrative work, event planning, networking, and working hands on with the community. At a young age my mother taught us to participate in community service and through that experience I learned the ripple effect that it can cause for yourself and others in the community. I am also a proud board member and volunteer for NAMI Orange County NY.
My brother Sean passed away in 2020 but I believe that when someone passes away, we should not ask “How did they die?” as much as we ask, “How did they live?” Sean lived life on life’s terms every day. He spent his days reaching for success and overcoming his struggles with the resources that he had in front of him. I started this organization to turn my grief and pain into something that will reflect his goals and leave him a beautiful legacy associated with is name.
He struggled with the trauma from Childhood Sexual Assault leading to a life of mental health illness and PTSD. He struggled with substance abuse as his symptoms to those wounds. Mental Health and addiction became our family’s disease. There are 1 in 5 people who suffer from the same mental health illnesses as Sean did every day. I promise that SeansDream will help to raise funds for medical care and resources for recovery, we will hold fundraising events to end the stigma around mental health illness and show others that through connection and support you can recover and live a happy healthy life. “We all have the same destination of success with different beautiful paths to get there” |
